An Iliad by Lisa Peterson and Denis O'Hare, based on Homer's The Iliad, translated by Robert Fagles, is a gripping, intimate theatrical experience. At its center is The Poet, a timeless storyteller compelled to recount the tale of Achilles, Hector, and the devastation of the Trojan War, again and again, until humanity can overcome its lust for violence and destruction.
By turns humorous, devastating, poetic, and incredibly timely, An Iliad sheds light on the horrors and rage of war, but most importantly, reminds us of our own humanity and how easily we can lose sight of it.
This production features Heather Lee Echeverria as The Poet, with original live music by Stephee Bonifacio as The Muse. The piece will be directed by Stacey Manos and Hannah Sheridan.
